from $225.00

$260 $280
July-August

Eight 1-hour classes at $35 per class plus shipped supplies
$225: Additional students in the same household

Your kids will love diving into impressionist art this summer! We’ll explore the paintings of Monet, Van Gogh and several seascape artists. They’ll also learn about Louis Comfort Tiffany’s glass windows, French Ceramics and the dresses of the Impressionist movement.
I’ll guide them as they create their own physical museum with foam board, decorate the walls, create displays and pedestals and then fill the museum with their own recreations of the art we look at each week.

Students will make miniature versions of paintings with oil pastels, Tiffany’s glass with shrinky-dinks, French ceramics with air dry clay and a dress display by gluing fabric on a foil form they create.

All the supplies are included and will be mailed to you with free shipping!

July 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th
August 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th

  • Thursdays (ages 13-18) • 9:30am - 10:30am

  • Thursdays (ages 8-12) • 11am - 12am

What will class be like?

After I share the artist/artwork or museum concept for the day, students will have the time to work on building and decorating their museum and creating their miniature artwork. They can chat with each other during this time and we may play some games as well.

Are supplies included?

Yes! For these summer classes, I will be shipping a box of supplies to you with free shipping.

I have kids in both age groups, can they still take class together?

I can be flexible on age groups as long as the situation is comfortable for all other students. For instance, I may not put an 8 year old in with high school teens, but if your older child is able to take the class with younger children, that is fine with me. Contact me and I’ll be glad to find a solution.

What happens with missed classes or cancellations?

Zoom meetings will be recorded so your student can watch our lesson when it’s convenient. Refunds are not given for missed classes.

If class is cancelled (due to my illness, etc.), we will make up the class at everyone’s convenience.

Sketching from Life class

Absolutely incredible art teacher! Highly recommend!! 10/10! My kids learned soooo much from Becky!! The only thing my son specifically requested to see from all his years of schooling as I went through things this summer was his artwork. My daughter went on to connect with an art community online, producing and selling art just for the fun of it. Becky is a super qualified and talented artist and art teacher!

I have a Bachelors and Masters in Commercial Art from Pensacola Christian College and have been a working artist for over 20 years. I have been an exhibiting artist at West End Gallery and also exhibited in multiple group shows including 171 Cedar Arts, the Arts Council of the Twin Tiers and the Arnot Art Museum.

I just completed another year-long art class for homeschoolers in my home, as well as several online classes for children and teens. I have also taught drawing, art appreciation, and oil painting to students of all ages—kids, teens, and adults—at 171 Cedar Arts. Currently, I teach a weekly class for members of the Elmira Regional Art Society.

My goal for your kids is to instill in them a love of art and art history by pairing art creation with enjoying art from the past.
