Iridescent Spiral (SOLD)

My favorite shell, the Nautilus.
Shells have special significance to me as much of my childhood vacations were spent in Sanibel Island gathering shells with my family. We watched the tides, got up before dawn, went to the bridge and crossed water with strong current. We walked the sandbars to find these treasures in mud so soft and clay-like that sometimes we’d sink past our calves and it would often suck the shoes off our feet. We would plan a trip right after a hurricane to take advantage of the shells being brought in from deeper water. When I look at my shell collection, it’s a flood of wonderful memories.
