Whether your child is interested in art ranging from painting to illustration, drawing from life is an important foundation for every art form.
In this drawing class, we’ll review helpful tips for drawing from life and students will venture into adding shading and value to their drawings. Judging and adding accurate value is the key to life-like and strong drawings and paintings and is a valuable skill to learn. We’ll also briefly cover fabric and types of folds. As always there will be time for art related games and observation of impressive artwork by other artists.
More class times may become available if classes fill quickly, so please join the waitlist to be alerted to new classes.

Supplies needed:

Set of drawing pencils: Can be found at any arts store like Hobby Lobby, Michaels and also Amazon. These pencils come in a range of light (H) to dark (B) graphite and the range will look like something like this: 4H, 2H, HB, 3B, 6B. As long as you have some H’s and some B’s the set will be fine. Two examples: Small Set and Large Set.
White Eraser: White erasers work best and won’t stain your paper. They can also be found with pencils at the arts stores. Example erasers on Amazon.
Sketchbook: 8×10 or larger is recommended
Classes will take place at my home in Horseheads New York and I will send you the full address after you’ve registered.
If your child misses a class, during the following class, I will give them any handouts that were given and catch them up on the concepts they missed. Refunds are not given for missed classes.
