My Favorite Gifts
This vase was a gift from my son, who is one of the best gift givers I know. He has the ability to notice and remember what people like and find the perfect gift that ticks all the boxes. Since blue is the color of my life and we share an enjoyment for Japanese things, this vase from him which came in a set of three is very special to me (mostly because he picked it out).
4×4 framed oil on panel
Japan’s blue and white porcelain was developed during the Edo Dynasty and the gold touches in the painting and frame represent Kintsugi, the Japanese technique of repairing broken pottery with gold.
