As I was preparing for the larger version of this painting, I decided to do a study. It is common for artists to paint studies in preparation for a larger work to see how colors work together, to confront any possible issues, work out composition and in this case, to see how I should handle the sheer fabric that I draped over the bouquet. I think studies are beautiful in their own way and have more movement and a spontaneous feel.
This study is framed in a flat profile silver frame that elevates the elegance of this painting.
